Berlin-based composer and violinist Johnny Chang engages in extended explorations surrounding the relationships of sound/silence and the in-between areas of improvisation, composition, performance and listening. Chang's articulated performances have been featured in festivals, residencies and experimental music series in both Europe, North America and New Zealand, from Sonic Acts (Amsterdam), Wandelweiser Klangraum Series (Düsseldorf), Hörbar (Hamburg), Klang im Turm (Munich), The Wulf (Los Angeles), Q-O2 workspace (Brussels), Loop-Line (Tokyo), Umlaut festival (Berlin & Paris) to experimental music series/venues in Berlin such as Ausland, Labor Sonor, Quiet Cue/Staalplaat and NK.

Thea Farhadian is an interdisciplinary artist and performer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her projects include solo violin & interactive electronics, laptop performance, improvisation, sound art, and video. Thea’s work has been seen internationally in venues in Berlin, London, Armenia, San Francisco and New York.

HANNES LINGENS



Hannes Lingens is a musician and composer in the field of contemporary and experimental music living and working in Berlin. He studied drums with Michael Griener and Günter Baby Sommer in Dresden and Accordion with Henning Schober in Hamburg. In 2009 he co-founded the collective Umlaut Berlin, which curates an annual festival for contemporary and experimental music and is part of the international label and network Umlaut Records. He is part of the ensembles Obliq, Konzert Minimal, [ro] and Die Hochstapler. As an improvisor he has worked with Tetuzi Akiyama, Christof Kurzmann, Olaf Rupp, Alexander Frangenheim and many more. As an interpreter he has collaborated with composers Peter Ablinger, Antoine Beuger, Philip Corner, Sven-Åke Johansson, Christian Kesten among others. Hannes Lingens has performed in internationally renowned festivals and venues throughout Europe, Japan, Israel, Russia and the USA.

DEAN SANTOMIERI



Guitarist Dean Santomeri composes and improvises using electric resonator guitars. He also regularly performs as a spoken word artist. In addition to his solo and duo work he has been associated with the groups: Donkey Boy; Malcolm Mooney & the 10th Planet; I Franzen, Ghost in the House and the Cornelius Cardew Choir.
