Electric and raw - ASHES deliver a unique brand of groove-based music. Encompassing jilted funk, driving rock grooves, searching soundscapes and frantic shifting textures. A displaced British-Australian quartet all currently based in Berlin, creating a fresh and compelling approach to hard hitting improv rock. Their enthusiastically received debut concert at Nickelsdorf Konfrontationen Festival in 2015 was followed in 2016 by a collaboration with Elliot Sharp in Berlin. In 2017 they will appear at Ulrichsberger Kaleidophon # 32 and unveil a new set of studio recordings.

SKILLS - Camilla M.Feher's performance duo with Sylvi Kretzschmar - is currently preparing the performance "FIELD" in collaboration with Veronika Zott as well as ASHES musicians Steve Heather and Hilary Jeffery. "FIELD" will be premiered on the 9th June 2017 at Hebbel am Ufer Theater, Berlin.

"Thor's Feathers" is the title of a very irregular series of AUXXX solo drum concerts, appearing for the first time since Chris Corsano played in Amsterdam in November 2008! Yorgos Dimitriadis has been extensively researching the hidden frequencies of cymbals and drums, using a pair of microphones anda normal drum kit for his solo performances. For the last 10 years he has been a very active member of the Berlin experimental and improvised music community, playing with Andrea Parkins, Achim Kaufmann, Audrey Chen, Tobias Delius, Ignaz Schick, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Paul Dunmall while also working with the collaboratve trios Grix, Glue and Fabric amongst many others. For the "Thor's Feathers 2" he will play solo for the first time in parallel with a solo dancer.

DANNY O REALLY, who passed away on 21 January 2017, was a true original with many friends and fans. He supported AUXXX from its early beginnings in
Amsterdam, both morally and as a sound engineer + performer. His last live appearance was at AUXXX Berlin on Sunday 20 November 2016 when he summoned all his strength to rock out with old friends from
ZAGREB.
The cremation of Danny's body including a ceremony for family and friends took place on 31 January 2017 in Berlin.
There will be 3 special memorial concerts this year in Berlin, Zagreb and Amsterdam to honour Danny's life and spirit. Details below, all are welcome.
