LEOPOLD LANDRICHTER

Leopold studied painting in university in Vienna and moved to Berlin 9 years ago. In his paintings he often use lines to fix the form in something like a skeletal structure. This gives him a frame where he sets the colours. With the colours he starts a process which is based on repetition, expansion and improvisation. He is interested in activities inside the picture, how colour and form are related and affect each other. The pictures do not explain or describe anything. They stay somewhere between and are more about space, activity, dynamics or visual music.
